Ciddio, Mary Rose

Although I have only been at Merritt since 2005, I have worked in the field of counseling for over 30 years in a wide variety of settings: Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling; Disability Services Counselor, Employment Counselor and Job Placement Specialist, Vocational Expert Witness - and on... I have been teaching in the Counseling Department since 2005.

I believe that learning should be fun and very experiential. We have so much to learn from our experiences, our readings and each other! I stress student interaction and group projects in the classroom as one of the ways of learning from each other.

I grew up in Philadelphia and went to Boston for Graduate School. My parents were Italian Immigrants who had limited education but had a focus on academic, personal and financial achievement for the kids. I was the first woman in my family to graduate college and then complete graduate school. No matter where you come from, don't limit your options because you never know what you can achieve unless you try.
